CAN A SUNSET BE BEAUTIFUL IF NO ONE’S THERE TO SEE IT?
Included below is the opening scene from a feature-length screenplay I wrote. It’s a Utah-based folk horror film inspired by true events in my life, with original poetry included at the end.
The story follows Julia, a disgruntled ghost-hunting reality TV director who convinces her network to let her direct a low-budget horror film about urban explorers during her contract renewal. As production unfolds, she must navigate intrusive network executives, a nasal spray addiction, and a voyeuristic cult leader obsessed with philosophers George Berkeley and Jacques Lacan.
