Originally a literary principle, once a gun is introduced, it’s destined to be fired. In real life, the presence of guns makes their use inevitable, driving more gun violence in Utah and the U.S.

Chekhov’s Gun:

A series of eight posters highlighting Utah’s staggering rates of gun violence were printed and placed throughout public spaces across the state, confronting people with the issue during their everyday lives. Each poster featured a QR code directing viewers to a dedicated website containing the full poster series, information about the project, and contact information for Utah lawmakers and elected officials.

To bring the message directly to those with the power to enact change, lawn signs were also installed outside legislators’ homes, offices, and government buildings, ensuring the campaign reached both the public and the policymakers shaping Utah’s gun laws.
